Sunset Ijselmeer

During the 24Hours race it was the only time we were allowed to sail on night and therefore the only day I got a sunset picture.

Darkboat

This was called by me as "Darkoldfashiopiratelikeboatwithweirdsails"  unfortunately the weird sails are not shown completely here but still they were sort of diferent.

I wish I knew the names

Of all the ships I saw.  this was of the old-kind-type with more than one mastile and "kiel" on the side. As the flowers I usually make up my own names of boats.

On Deck

After a couple of days I handle to stay on foot on deck and when the water and wind is calmed I was able to start taking some pictures of sail boats

Coincidence

This was the first time I was going to try a Picture while the Boat was moving.

I found a little window that would allow me to take them from the room, without any danger of me(or the cammera) to fall down or get wet.

I put the 300mm lens to take a shot of a ship that was far away. and while on a hurry. I did not notice that I left it in M ( manual ) with the previous configuration of the night before. So I just point to my far away objective and shoot.

What a suprise when I saw what I capture.... In that exact moment another ship was traveling in the oposite direction and cover most of my view. But it generated another nice picture just by coincidence.

I like the effect on how many things just blow away as oversaturated but still looks nice. and also take a look on the effect on the bottom which looks like a white gradient. Even if someone might think this picture was digitally modificated... believeme it was not. and this is just as it came out of the cammera.

And I really like this one.But unfortunately I can not take any credit for it... It was a coincidence :-)

Tilt

If you are asking yourself why I have been posting photos not regarding sailing directly, well the reason is simple...
The first days I was kind of fighting for my life while trying to stay on foot. I must say that with a inclination of more than 35° it is no easy task to walk and do some other stuff. So Taking my cammera out would be kind of risky, many things were just flying all over the place and I did not wanted the cammera to be one of them.


Here a picture I could take with my phone, not amazing on quality but it shows a little tilt on it .. ( look also at the towel behind )

Did you know that you are NOT allowed to use the bathroom when you are on the Docks?

Next day before departing again, while taking a little walk I found some little friends on the road :-)
